Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Our first experience of caldero in Mexico. It's essentially soup but it's hearty and fresh with additional bits that come with it like avocado, onion, coriander and lime. Get all that in to your caldero - delicious. We also had a quesadilla for good measure. Oh and they serve baskets of tortilla chips with 4 great sauces. Really good"
"Look at this amazing auténtico almorzado. I had a hot tip about this place and it was incredible. Everyone so friendly. And so local. I had the Caldo de Chipilin and had to add some chicharrones y arroz but the rest is just what you get and it is off the HOOK delicious. Add a couple of Tecate Light (the Mexican Natty Lite) and you have perfection."
"Haven’t tried anything but Sopa mariscos and can only recommend. The place can be busy but waiting is justified."
"We had Sopa Tlalpeño, the perfect thing for a cold SanCris night. Great flavors, great value. We will be back!"
"Had a cute pancreatitis for 2 of the 3 weeks I stayed in San Cristobal de las Casas. The soups here saved my life, maybe literally."
"Do you want a soup /broths? There are so many great soups/broth here and all are amazing, caldo tlalpeño, pozole, sopa de tortilla, etc. a small but cozy place"
"Nothing life changing, but everything was good. The pozole required adding lots of additional spice for me, but it had plenty of chicken and once doctored up was good. One of my favorite things was actually the horchata that had no sugar added to it. It was really refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet like many on the street."
"Perfect recommendation from our Tourguide. Lot of options. Just take any and it will taste awesome. Cool and friendly staff. Nice seating area. Just step in and be happy with your food!"
